They are a very versatile unit in their cell and have the ability to quickly adapt to any situation. Militant - The militant's role is similar to the scout's and specialists' role. He is equipped with either a select-fire assault rifle, DMR, or PWD, and has access to all grenades. Unlike the specialist, the scout has access to the MP40 (rather than the AKS-74u) and the SKS (rather than the FAL). He is a very versatile unit and has the ability to quickly adapt to any situation. Scout - The scout's role is very similar to the specialist's role. They are equipped with either a carbine or pdw and have access to all grenades. They are good at close quarters combat, though are more well equipped than the specialists' for medium range. Recon - The recon class' role is similar to the specialists' role. He is equipped with a select-fire assault rifle, DMR, or PDW, and has access to all grenades. Specialist - The specialist is a very versatile unit and has the ability to quickly adapt to any situation. They are equipped with a carbine, pdw, or shotgun and have access to all grenades. Their role is to lead the fireteam and act as a pointman. Specialist - Specialists excel at close quarters combat, though can be very versatile at medium range as well. Each class has 10 supply points that may be used for weapons, attachments, and gear at the start of a match or at a re-supply point. All classes have access to all available secondary weapons, protective armors, and ammo vests. Though some are very similar, each has different sets of primary and explosive weapons available to them. Insurgency features 22 unique classes (10 Security classes, 11 Insurgency classes, and the VIP class). I did leave some stuff out for the sake of being breif.Multiplayer Classes Main article: Classes of Insurgency Stick to this game it's more grounded in reality. In other words: if you're looking for accuracy that isn't the place. This doesn't even account for the fact that ATACS is in the game when it isn't used by any military force and the most relevant example of them even being worn by a military unit is a few propaganda images of Russian FSB who immeditely switched them for multicam (I'm unaware if any PMCs use it either but it's highly unlikely given the shotty quality of most ATACS BDU sets, so don't give me that). There is also a distinct lack of certain camoflauges that would ACTULLY see service in the area, for instance the Russian army does not issue DIGIFLOR to units deployed in Syria but a tropical variant of the camo, as well as the prescense of Flecktarn but not Troppentarn. Also the fact that the terrorists have access to the OKP-7 (a incredibly rare Russian optic that costs more than the weapons they're mounted on) and the PKA-S (another optic that would be incredibly unlikely to wind it's way into the middle eastern militants hands), and rather than use a PSO which would actually be common among terrorists to mount on their weapons they decided to chose a US Military Trijicon ACOG (how they got ahold of these in large numbers is mystery). For instance all muzzle devices but the suppressor are the same remington 870 shotgun breacher choke, something that would never be put on anything but a 12 gauge shotgun. The Terrorist team is a little better in the weapons department (although I'll still attest the SKS should be a traditional stripper clip SKS not a type 63 as Chinese paratrooper SKSs are not as common as traditional ones), but suffers greatly in the attachments. The fact security forces can get both an SA80 and a G36 on a team that is not distnictly German (who don't even use the G36 anymore) or British (L85A2 = SA80, just different nomenclature deal with it) is a big '♥♥♥♥ you' to people looking for a realistic experience.
